India: A Future Green Hydrogen PtX Hub in the Making?

April 25, 2024

India is currently one of the largest consumers of hydrogen globally and has great potential to be a PtX hub due to ambitious renewable capacity targets, vast availability of land, potential for local use cases and a highly qualified workforce. The country aims to utilize this potential via various initiatives, such as mobilizing funding to grow the H2 economy, creation of green hydrogen hubs and the creation of a regulatory framework for the green hydrogen ecosystem.

India’s strategic location can serve prospective demand centers such as the EU and the Far East (Japan and South Korea) whilst also creating a strong ecosystem for domestic integration (India makes up 6% of the global H2 consumption).
