Kudos to Norsk Hydro and Hydro Havrand for producing world’s first aluminium batch using green hydrogen This is a great news for the industry as aluminium is one of the most consumed metals globally. With the rise in importance for energy transition, demand of aluminium is set to grow significantly as it is critical material for various aspects of energy transition.
Aluminium also, is one of the most polluting metal and with its rise in importance and growth, there arises a need for decarbonisation. Hence the question, how can aluminium be decarbonised?
So how can green hydrogen play a role in aluminium decarbonisation?
