Yamna has signed a land reservation agreement at the Port of Açu, marking a significant milestone in its expansion into a global digital infrastructure platform. As part of a growing portfolio, the agreement strengthens Yamna’s capability to originate, develop and advance large-scale data center opportunities across multiple jurisdictions, solidifying its position as a trusted development partner.
The agreement secures an initial 20-hectare site within the Port of Açu industrial complex, located 280 kilometers northeast of Rio de Janeiro, with the preferential right to expand to a further 20 hectares in the future. The site will support the development of a next-generation hyperscale and AI-ready data center campus with an initial capacity of 250 MW in Phase 1 and the ability to scale over time, meeting the rapidly growing demand for digital infrastructure in Brazil and across Latin America.
Brazil currently represents the Latin America’s largest data center market, with Microsoft, AWS, Google and Oracle all operating cloud regions in-country. Installed data center IT capacity stands at approximately 1 GW today and is projected to triple by 2030, driven by AI workloads, cloud adoption and continued hyperscale expansion. The national grid is approximately 85% renewable, with industrial electricity among the cheapest in Latin America. The site, , offers access to abundant low-cost power, to scalable land within an established industrial port complex, and to one of Latin America’s fastest-growing cloud region and AI hub.
The project builds on Yamna’s established presence at the Port of Açu through its green hydrogen initiatives, leveraging existing relationships with key stakeholders and extensive experience navigating the region’s regulatory environment. Yamna’s experience and expertise provides a distinct advantage, reducing development risk and supporting a more efficient path to project execution.
