Denmark has launched a subsidy tender for green hydrogen production worth €170 million to promote greenfield green hydrogen projects based in Denmark. Launched on April 19, 2023, the EU approved state aid tender offers a fixed subsidy for a period of 10 years with the preference for the lower offered price.
Denmark launched its hydrogen strategy in December 2021 which sets out an electrolyser capacity target of between 4-6 GW by 2030 with a use case focus on hard-to-abate sectors like shipping and aviation as well as heavy road transport and industry.
