Yamna Signs MoU with Government of Andhra Pradesh in India to Develop Large-Scale Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Project

• MoU signed at the Green Hydrogen Summit at SRM University AP, Amaravati, India on July 18, 2025, with presence of Hon. Chief Minister Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, who announced the establishment of a Green Hydrogen Valley in the state

• Project to be developed by leading green molecules producer Yamna, already engaged in advanced green ammonia projects worldwide, involving an investment of INR 16,000 crores (~USD 2bn)

• Production of 1 million tonnes of green ammonia per annum near port of Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, sourcing renewable energy from the Indian grid
London/Amaravati, 18 July 2025 - YamnaCo Ltd, a UK-headquartered global leader in green hydrogen and ammonia production, today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP). The agreement marks a major step forward in Yamna’s plans to develop a large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia project in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.
Backed by HYCAP, a UK-based private equity fund manager fully dedicated to the energy transition, Yamna brings cutting-edge expertise, global partnerships, and a proven track record in green molecules project development. The proposed project aligns with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, which aims to produce 5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of green hydrogen by 2030.
Under the MoU signed on 18 July 2025, Yamna will work closely with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to develop a phased grid-connected green ammonia project with a planned capacity of up to 1 Mtpa, to be located near the port of Krishnapatnam. The estimated investment for the project is approximately INR 16,000 crores, and it is expected to create around 5,500 direct and indirect jobs in the region.
